About the founder:
Robert Moghim, M.D. is a successful entrepreneur, business leader and clinical specialist with an exceptional track record in the field of healthcare, practice management, and medical-legal/malpractice. He spent the last decade founding, implementing, and managing medical practices and healthcare service companies. The MMC team has over twenty (20+) plus years of combined professional experience and diverse expertise in the field of healthcare. His team includes an esteemed group of healthcare financial advisers, attorneys, and operations professionals.
One of his most notable accomplishments includes the founding of Onyx Healthcare, Inc. (Onyx M.D.), a top performing and fast growing privately held national staffing and consulting company. Dr. Moghim’s current role with the company is chairman of the board and chief adviser. The company has received numerous awards such as the prestigious Inavero’s Best of Staffing Award in consecutive years, an honor which is reserved for only the top 2% of all healthcare staffing companies in the U.S. and Canada. Due to the success at Onyx M.D., Dr. Moghim was recognized as a top three (3) finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, an award which recognizes individuals who demonstrate extraordinary financial, innovative, and personal commitment in the field of healthcare.
In addition to his role with Onyx M.D., Dr. Moghim is the founder of Colorado Pain Care. At Colorado Pain, he is responsible for leading and building local teams for implementing a proven and safe treatment model. Under his leadership, Colorado Pain has demonstrated an alternative path to opioid treatment in the field of pain medicine and is one of the few proactive practices that reports on clinical results and quality metrics. Only two (2) years since its inception, Colorado Pain has become the largest and most productive practice in the Colorado market, with clinical results that show a 61.4% increase in activities of daily living, 51.2% of patients reporting better sleep, 60.2% of patients with increased ability to work, and 58.3% of patients reporting less overall medication intake. In addition, after just 6 months of patient’s reporting opioid doses were cut by 40% and 34% of patients were completely taken off of opioids.
Dr. Moghim was also the founder and CEO of Horizon Anesthesia and Pain Consultants, a hospital-based private practice group. At Horizon, Dr. Moghim served as the direct liaison to hospital administration, leading the organization to successful service contracts and overseeing over 65,000 operations and procedures. He was responsible for the financial performance, compliance, clinical safety and financial reporting. Dr. Moghim is one of the few physicians in the nation with skill sets that go beyond just clinical experience. In addition, he was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to serve the public interest as a physician member of the Colorado Medical Board. His multifaceted experience in various roles of healthcare has allowed him to understand healthcare from a unique and diverse set of perspectives.
Education/Extracurricular
Dr. Moghim successfully completed undergraduate, Medical School and Residency training without any gaps in program completion expectations.
He completed Medical School at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and specialty training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in the field of Anesthesiology, a field in which he maintains ABA Board Certification.
Dr. Moghim attended Duke University on a full athletic soccer scholarship after achieving Parade All American honors and U.S. National Team selections. He competed in two (2) NCAA Final Four Championship Cup Tournaments and one (1) National Championship appearance during his tenure at Duke.
